The residency program values the balance between work and family life and does a lot to support the resident and his/her family. Children and family are incorporated into social activities.
There’s a support group for partners of residents, free anonymous counseling, priority day care assignments, and domestic partner benefits.
Recently, the hospital has supported the creation of a committee focusing on work-life balance. This group consists of residents, fellows, and faculty and meets regularly to discuss new and innovative strategies to balance home and work life as a physician.
